Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Fitter to join the ATR Maintenance team in Idaho Falls. The role involves fabrication, installation, and layout of piping systems, with responsibilities spanning from blueprints interpretation to radiation safety.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent and experience with exotic metals; U.S. citizenship for DOE clearance is required. The job supports a 4x10 schedule with Fridays off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years relevant work experience
• Trade apprenticeship with 2 years relevant work experience
• DOE L clearance requires U.S. citizenship
• Experience with exotic and specialty metals (stainless, Inconel, Hastelloy, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Perform layout, fit-up, and fabrication of piping per drawings and codes.
• Read blueprints, isometrics, and P&IDs to determine needs.
• Align pipe, fittings, flanges, and supports to tight tolerances.
• Fabricate and install pipe spools, supports, and hangers.
• Perform field measurements and layout for piping runs.
• Conduct pressure testing, inspection, and quality checks.
• Operate shop equipment and hand/power tools.
• Maintain safety and radiological work requirements.
