Job summary

M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Technical Engineer to join a high-visibility engineering team. You will support, deploy, and enhance vendor-provided ATM software platforms and related technologies that power critical banking services.

You will work across systems engineering, automation, and customer experience initiatives, mentoring peers and delivering operational improvements across the ATM network.

Qualifications

• 6+ years combined education/experience in systems design, management and/or architecture.
• Experience in Technical Engineering, Infrastructure/Platform Engineering, or Systems Administration.
• Experience supporting, configuring, deploying, and maintaining enterprise software applications and platforms.
• PowerShell or Batch scripting experience.
• Experience with software deployment and release management processes.
• Experience with vulnerability remediation, patch management, and operational support.
• Experience troubleshooting complex systems and platform issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with Windows-based enterprise environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technology, business, and vendor teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design, develop, and execute technical solutions.
• Perform infrastructure review, implementation, and design; create documentation, standards, and testing.
• Interact with business partners to clarify requirements and elicit business needs.
• Coordinate vendor interactions and resources as needed.
• Mentor less experienced engineers, review documentation and proposals.
• Expand knowledge of Financial Services trends, practices, and technologies.
• Promote best practices, standards, and procedures; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of bank applications and vendor technologies.
• Design, deploy, install, configure, maintain, and support vendor-provided platforms.
