Job summary

Optimal Solutions & Technologies (OST, Inc.) in McLean, Virginia seeks a Jira Developer to design and implement tailored Jira/JSM and Confluence workflows, fields, and permissions across Cloud and Data Center environments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features, automate processes via Script Runner and REST APIs, manage access and security, and serve as SME with training across departments.

Qualifications

• College degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years administering Atlassian Cloud/Data Center products (Jira, JSM, Confluence).
• Experience with Jira Automation and Script Runner.
• Strong knowledge of JSM portals, SLAs, and Assets (Insight).
• Familiarity with Git, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• US residency for 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement tailored Jira/JSM and Confluence workflows, fields, and permissions across Cloud and Data Center.
• Build and maintain JSM workflows, including incident, request, change, and problem management; asset management (Assets/Insight); service catalogs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features and ensure integration with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop custom apps, scripts, and automations using Script Runner or REST APIs to extend Atlassian capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; maintain smooth operations and quick resolutions.
• Organize Confluence spaces, standardize templates, permissions, and integrate with JSM portal search.
• Manage user access, security governance, and system performance in Atlassian apps.
• Work independently while collaborating with team members and delivering quality solutions.
• Serve as SME, documenting configurations, best practices, and conducting user training across departments.
