Job summary

McKenney's is seeking a Distribution Coordinator in Atlanta to manage daily delivery scheduling for a segment of our operations. You will act as the central contact among project teams, drivers, warehouses, and logistics leadership to ensure on-time, safe deliveries.

Responsibilities include dispatch, load planning, fleet maintenance coordination, and maintenance of transport documentation. Strong organization, communication, and adherence to DOT safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
• Ability to organize multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily delivery schedule for a segment of Atlanta operations.
• Schedule and dispatch company drivers to meet project needs.
• Review upcoming project schedules and proactively coordinate deliveries.
• Adjust schedules throughout the day to accommodate changing priorities, emergencies, and customer requests.
• Balance workloads across drivers, trucks, and trailers to maximize efficiency.
• Coordinate outsourced freight when required.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, foremen, warehouse personnel, and drivers.
• Communicate delivery schedules, delays, and changes to stakeholders.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and delivery issues while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Provide drivers with the information and documentation necessary for successful deliveries.
• Coordinate loading activities to ensure trucks and trailers are prepared for scheduled deliveries.
• Verify loads are properly secured and comply with company and DOT safety requirements.
• Ensure appropriate vehicles and trailers are assigned based on load requirements.
• Promote safe transportation practices and operational compliance.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs for trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Schedule equipment inspections and maintain maintenance records.
• Coordinate repairs with outside vendors and remove equipment from service as necessary.
• Assist with trailer inspections, DOT compliance activities, and GPS/communication equipment maintenance.
• Prepare purchase orders related to fleet maintenance and outsourced freight.
• Maintain repair, maintenance, and compliance documentation using company software.
• Track maintenance costs and identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
• Support the Material Handling Manager with operational reporting and other administrative duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
