Job summary

Visit.org is seeking an experienced Freelance Event Specialist to manage on-site logistics for an in-person event in Atlanta, GA. The right candidate will be based in Atlanta and bring corporate event experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for our mission to a start-up tech environment.

This contract per-event role requires strong communication, customer service excellence, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced settings.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
• Based in Atlanta, GA.
• Schedule flexibility for per-event contract.
• Experience in complex, large-scale events.
• Willingness to travel within the local region.
• Strong interpersonal skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all event details, ship materials, and arrange staffing for each event.
• Be on-site hands-on during events: setup, run of show, teardown, and post-event wrap.
• Act as Visit.org representative and problem solver at events.
• Align roles with onsite team, including host, nonprofit, venue, staff, and partners.
• Manage check-in and provide a warm welcome to guests.
• Escalate issues to the Events Team when needed and provide updates.
• Wrap up after events and return materials to distribution center.
• Pack supplies and prepare shipping labels as needed.
