Job description

Athletics Scoreboard Operator

Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Athletics Scoreboard Operator position for the 2024‑2025 season. This fixed‑term position (August–May) is responsible for game clock and scoreboard operations related to a given sport. The position is assigned to sporting events throughout the year, including but not limited to: Men's and Women's Soccer, Football, Wrestling, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, and Men's and Women's Lacrosse.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate shot clock, game clock, or scoreboard during varsity competitions.
• Learn and adhere to specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules.
• Interact with assigned game officials, Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff during events.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of a given sport’s rules and regulations.
• Ability to learn specific game protocol for Ivy League and NCAA rules.
• Quick observation and reaction to events on the field, court, or athletic venue.
• Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
