City of Southfield is seeking a Specialty Coordinator – Athletics to lead year‑round athletic programs for youth and adults, manage tournaments and field rentals, and serve as the on‑site liaison among athletes, parents, coaches, instructors, Parks and Recreation partners, and leadership.

The role focuses on program quality, safety compliance, admin efficiency, and growing participation while coordinating with partners and maintaining high standards across all activities.

Competenze

• Experience coordinating year-round athletic programs and events.
• Ability to manage scheduling, budgeting support, and payroll documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with athletes, parents, coaches and partners.
• Evening/weekend availability required.

Mansioni

• Assist and oversee year-round athletic programming, including Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer leagues, tournaments, outdoor programs, and field rentals
• Ensure operational excellence across practices, games, events, and facility usage
• Develop recruitment and outreach strategies to grow participation
• Serve as on-site authority during practices, games, rentals, and events, enforcing rules and policies
• Provide support to coaches and instructors, including communication of expectations, scheduling, payroll processing
• Coordinate logistics for tournaments and special events
• Collaborate with Parks and Recreation on scheduling and community initiatives
• Manage administrative operations including scheduling, records, reporting, budgeting support, payroll documentation, compliance tracking
• Maintain positive relationships with athletes, parents, instructors, partners, leadership
