Detroit Public Schools Community District (Henry Ford High School) seeks an Athletic Coordinator to lead and administer a comprehensive athletics program for coaches and student-athletes. You will manage scheduling, eligibility, transportation, equipment, tickets, and compliance with district and state policies.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Fitness, Athletic training or related fields.
• Master's degree in Ed Leadership, or Health and Fitness, Athletic Training or related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of related education experience, including three (3) years of classroom teaching experience.
• Minimum of 5 years coaching/athletics/sports management/athletic coordinator directors’ experience in an urban school setting and/or in a multicultural education environment.
• Experience managing budgets and personnel required.

Aufgaben

• Oversee all major functions of athletics at local high schools.
• Be available for after school, evenings/weekend practices, events and meets.
• Be punctual and have good attendance.
• Regularly monitor scholar-athletes academic eligibility performance, attendance, behavior, training and development of their individual athletic ability.
• Supervise all athletics participating coaches in the building.
• Coordinate the sports program in collaboration with the school’s Principal/Administrator/Coaching staff.
• Observe and administer all school and District policies.
• Ensure the organization and seasonal/annual inventory of all equipment.
• Ensure regular programs of practice in and out of season and study table for athletes.
• Submit all administrative materials by the deadline.
• Work closely with the Office of Athletics when scheduling interscholastic contest and officials/umpires.
• Schedule and coordinate coaches’ end of the season/evaluations.
• Ensure maintenance of necessary background clearance forms, eligibility forms, physical forms, attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork for all student athletes and coaches.
• Oversee safety conditions of the facilities or areas and ensure that medical personnel are present for assigned sports.
• Ensure game officials/umpires are present for scheduled events and that Site Coordinators complete and submit timely payment forms for game staff and officials/umpires.
• Administer the athletic programs in accordance with state, conference, and District by-laws.
• Ensure that all coaches, assistant coaches and volunteers have met the minimum and mandatory certification requirements to remain in compliance with state, conference and district guidelines.
