Job summary

The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools seeks an Assistant Athletic Director to manage the school’s athletic program, which includes 50+ teams across 17 sports and 94+ coaching positions. The role requires organization, budgeting, event planning, and CMS/social media management to enhance Lab’s athletic presence.

Collaborate with the Athletic Director and Director of Athletics, recruit and mentor coaches, ensure compliance with NCAA and IHSA rules, and lead strategic growth of the program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Five to seven years of experience in school athletics or a related setting.
  • Master's degree preferred in Sports Administration or Educational Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise all athletic events including games and practices.
  • Coordinate resources, equipment, facilities, and staff for events.
  • Oversee game-day operations, officials, security, and transportation.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of coaches.
  • Develop and implement budgets, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Promote Lab athletics through social media and the school website.
