Job summary

Chicago Public Schools in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced School Athletic Director to oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive high school athletics program, reporting to the Principal and Executive Director, Sports Administration.

The role demands strong leadership, fiscal oversight, policy compliance, and coordination of schedules, transportation, safety, and events to support student-athletes and coaches district-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• NIAAA Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA) preferred.
• Developing Competitors and Mental Wellness through Positive Coaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers the extracurricular athletic programs, activities, and events.
• Maintains files and records required by policy and law.
• Responds to information requests from IHSA, FOIA, Title IX, and colleges.
• Develops and updates handbooks and policy manuals in alignment with district policies.
• Oversees budgeting, transportation, and scheduling for athletic programs.
• Coordinates athletic facilities and athletic contests; supervises staff.
