Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks an experienced School Athletic Director (ESP) to lead a comprehensive high school athletics program across the district. The role focuses on policy adherence, student eligibility, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with IHSA and district offices.

You will report to the Principal and Executive Director of Sports Administration, supervise coaches and staff, and ensure safe, equitable opportunities for all student‑athletes while aligning with CPS core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
• NIAAA Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA) preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in interscholastic sports, including at least three years in sports program administration.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and implementation of a comprehensive high school athletics program.
• Coordinate athletic budgets, purchasing, and capital improvements.
• Ensure student eligibility and compliance with IHSA and district policies.
• Plan schedules for all teams and manage transportation and venue logistics.
• Supervise coaching staffs and coordinators; coordinate with CPS and partners.
