Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Grounds Supervisor in Lawrence, KS to manage the grounds and upkeep of Hoglund Ballpark and related facilities. The role requires coordinating with Facilities/Events staff to ensure safe use of athletic facilities for practices, games, and special events.

The supervisor will lead full-time, part-time, and student staff, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure compliance with chemical application protocols, while managing overtime and game-day coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in relevant event venue setting to include grounds upkeep and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and electronic forms.
• Ability to multi-task, stay detail oriented, and work with a diverse staff.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Chemical Application Certification license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and performs grounds maintenance activities including mowing, aerating, verti cutting, fertilizations, seeding, sodding, top dressing, and painting sports fields and lawns.
• Performs application of chemicals, fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides with proper protocols and certifications.
• Supervises snow/ice removal for athletics facilities using equipment and de-icers.
• Ensure operational readiness and safety of equipment and tools (trucks, mowers, etc.).
• Maintain records of maintenance and field applications; manage staff and event coverage.
• Direct supervision of full-time, part-time, and student staff; oversee third-party game-day workers.
