Qualifications

• A degree or certificate in a horticulture related field is helpful but not required.
• CSFM designation is preferred but not required.
• Prior knowledge and experience working on a baseball field is preferred.
• Must be willing and able to occasionally work early mornings, late nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Ability and desire to work with the Superintendent to develop and lead a team including interns and seasonal staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee upkeep of eight full synthetic baseball fields and landscaped common areas.
• Perform general field and facilities maintenance, including irrigation, fencing, and restrooms.
• Assist with building maintenance, custodial tasks, and parking area upkeep.
• Hire, train, and supervise seasonal staff and interns; assist with scheduling.
• Assist on game days with field/dugout upkeep, trash management, and safety checks.

Company Overview:
Ground floor opportunity with a rapidly growing company based in Indianapolis. Prep Baseball Tournaments owns and/or operates numerous private baseball tournament-only complexes across the country. We are customer centered with emphasis on providing high-end, high tech baseball tournament facilities. Tournament season is typically from March through October. The high intensity tournament season is during June and July.

Job Overview:
Prep Baseball Tournaments is looking for an Assistant Grounds Superintendent for the HomeField Baseball Park in Kansas City, Kansas. The complex has 8 full synthetic, full size baseball fields with fully irrigated and extensively landscaped common areas. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Superintendent to operate and maintain the complex to high standards of quality, aesthetics and cleanliness. Along with the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the baseball playing surfaces and related facilities, common areas and landscaping, building maintenance, building custodial, parking lots, seasonal staff hiring, training, supervision and scheduling.

Job Environment and Expectations:
Applicants should enjoy working in a fast paced, rapidly changing baseball tournament environment in a variety of weather conditions. Non-game day activity includes training and scheduling of seasonal staff in the performance of synthetic field and related facilities maintenance and repairs, mowing, trimming and landscape maintenance of common areas, fence repairs, deep cleaning of restrooms, cleaning and washdown of dugouts, field perimeter and common areas, maintenance of buildings interiors and exteriors and other duties as assigned. Game day and tournament activity includes field and dugouts maintenance and cleaning between games, trash management, clean and stock restrooms, keeping common areas clean and safe. Compensation:
Full-time, year round position. $18-$22 per hour DOE, overtime eligible.
