Job summary

The Town of Erie is seeking part-time staff to perform entry-level athletic field maintenance and related park operations. Duties include mowing, irrigation work, safety inspections, minor construction, and supporting weekend tournaments and events.

This role may support other parks division work groups, requires weekend/evening availability, and a starting rate of $20.23/hour with strict annual hour limits.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends and evenings as assigned.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining athletic fields including infield skin work, clay, field prep, and painting athletic surfaces.
• Supporting weekend tournaments and special events by preparing for and/or staffing weekend events.
• Turf grass mowing, trimming, fertilizing, aerating, seeding, topdressing, and weed control.
• Turf maintenance, playground maintenance, hardscape maintenance, and irrigation repairs.
• Collecting trash and removing vandalism and graffiti.
• Performing a variety of heavy laboring activities utilizing pickup trucks, trailers, tractors, riding and walk behind mowers, edgers, string trimmers, backpack blowers and various hand tools and other power maintenance equipment.
• Installing and maintaining concrete work, signage, fences, courts, benches, grills, tables and other park amenities.
• Performing snow removal activities either by hand, small equipment, or heavy equipment as assigned.
