Job summary

The City of Arlington is seeking a qualified leader to plan, direct, organize, and schedule staff and multiple facilities to support youth and adults athletics programs.

This position oversees budgets, payroll, purchasing, and program development, ensuring cost recovery and quality service across leagues, classes, camps, and events.

Responsibilities include hiring and supervising staff and volunteers, managing facilities, and presenting to management and community groups.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles and rules of facility operations and athletics programming.
• Knowledge of supervision techniques to plan, assign, coordinate, direct, and monitor personnel (including volunteers) and programs.
• Knowledge of basic marketing and promotional strategies.
• Knowledge of ADA and its effect on sports programs.
• Knowledge of administering athletic programs and events and related budgeting.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Skill in office management principles.
• Skill in managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to determine facility maintenance and upkeep requirements.
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, organize, and schedule staff and multiple facilities to accommodate youth and adult athletics leagues, tournaments, events, classes, camps, and programs.
• Direct and manage staff and volunteers at program venues to ensure safety and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and manage program services, budgets, payroll, and purchasing to meet cost-recovery targets.
• Determine facility and program needs based on feedback and deploy actions to address deficiencies.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers; oversee volunteer coaches.
