Job summary

Valparaiso University is seeking a position to partner with the Assistant Director of Events and Facilities for the management of all athletic events within the Department of Athletics. This role will also oversee the Athletic Department Equipment Room and coordinate with teams on purchasing and inventory.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, with 2-3 years in Division I athletic event management preferred, and will be responsible for staffing, game-day operations, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred)
• 2-3 year experience in Division I athletic event management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in event set up and management of all athletic events and rentals.
• Hire staff of student workers to handle setup/breakdown of events.
• Lead weekly game day operations meetings to ensure smooth operation on game days.
• Work with OneCard office to ensure that all building access is up to date throughout the year.
• On-site management for Valpo athletic contests including hosting MVC Championships and rentals as needed.
• Oversee the services and day to day operations of the equipment room.
• Coordinate with teams to manage purchasing, inventory, tracking, distribution and care of athletic equipment and supplies within budget.
• Ensure proper fitting and maintenance of all sports equipment per AEMA guidelines.
• Upkeep and maintenance of all athletic fields (Brown Field, Emory Bauer Field, Softball Complex) and surrounding areas.
• Other duties as assigned
