Job summary

Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA, is seeking an Athletics Equipment & Operations Manager. You will oversee procurement, maintenance, distribution, and inventory of all athletic equipment and apparel, ensuring safety and preparedness for practices and games.

You will supervise student staff and game-day personnel, coordinate with coaches and administrators, and oversee laundry operations and facility readiness. Weekend/evening hours required, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in athletics or equipment management.
• Experience with intercollegiate equipment administration.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of equipment management software.
• Knowledge of athletic equipment and related maintenance.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, vendors, and the public.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform duties with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage a comprehensive program for purchase, maintenance, distribution, cleaning, collection, storage and reconditioning of all athletic supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a digital database of equipment and uniforms; conduct annual audits.
• Collaborate with Athletic Director on equipment budget and vendor agreements.
• Oversee daily laundry operations and supervise student employees.
• Oversee home game operations and coordinate game-day staff.
• Prepare facilities for competitions and practices; manage scheduling of lights, tickets, concessions and custodial coordination.
