Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
• Ten years of progressively responsible management experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee long-range goals and strategic planning; implement policies to support these goals.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA by-laws, Lone Star Conference regulations, and institutional rules and ethical standards.
• Manage all administrative work related to NCAA Division II membership.
• Ensure satisfactory academic performance and welfare of student-athletes.
• Establish a safe environment and address harassment, hazing, or discrimination.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise department staff and coaches.
• Develop annual departmental budget and control expenditures including travel and purchases by coaches and teams.
• Coordinate dissemination of information regarding athletic activities to media and University community.
• Represent the University at local, regional, and national levels on athletic matters.
• Oversee requisitions, invoices, and payments as required by policies.
• Implement system-wide policies pertaining to the department.
