Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for our Orthopedic Urgent Care in Caldwell, ID. The role supports the Orthopedics team across clinics, evaluating injuries and guiding rehab in an outpatient setting.

Training will occur at other Orthopedic Urgent Care locations until the Caldwell clinic opens in late Fall 2025. The position emphasizes injury assessment, prevention education, and rehabilitation program design, with a schedule around 12:00 p.m.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
Licensure in Idaho as Athletic Trainer or provisional license with 120 days to full licensure.
Secondary state licensure in Idaho or Oregon within 120 days from hire; BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

Recognize/triage, evaluate, and care for athletic injuries.
Assess functional capacity to determine injury extent and ability to participate in activities.
Educate and guide patients on injury prevention and treatment.
Record accurately all assessment information.
Develop rehabilitation or reconditioning plans to restore function.
Assist with charting, rooming patients, and applying splints/braces/casts.
