Job summary

OSS Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide prevention, recognition, and treatment of injuries for athletes at contracted schools, clubs, and events. You will observe licensure rules and contribute to patient care with a focus on safety and outcomes.

The role requires PA licensure, BOC certification, and the ability to operate medical and vehicle equipment; two years of experience and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training or related field.
• Two years of experience preferred.
• Current PA State License in Athletic Training and AT Certification through the Board of Certification required.
• BLS certification required or ability to obtain before working independently with students or patients.
• Clearances as required by PA CPSL, Act 34, Act 15 and OSS Health requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate Gator/UTV.

Responsibilities

• Applies protective or injury-preventive devices such as tape, bandages, and braces.
• Recognizes and evaluates injuries and provides first aid or emergency care.
• Develops and carries out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
• Plans and implements comprehensive programs to prevent injury and illness from athletics.
• Maintains records, writes reports on injuries and treatment programs, and develops Emergency Action Plans.
• Maintains NATA BOC certification and PA AT licensing; mentors less experienced staff.
