Job summary
Intermountain Health seeks a patient-centered Athletic Trainer to support our Sports & Recreation department. In this field-based role, you’ll provide injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation services to athletes and active patients, deliver on-field emergency care, and coordinate safe return-to-play in collaboration with physicians and therapists.
You’ll document in our EMR, educate athletes and coaches, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- BOC certification as Athletic Trainer.
- State athletic trainer license (or eligibility).
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- NPI number (or ability to obtain).
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite injury prevention, evaluation, and management for athletes and active patients.
- Develop and implement rehab and return-to-play programs.
- Deliver emergency care and manage acute injuries during practices and events.
- Document care accurately in EMR and communicate with physicians and therapists.
- Collaborate with coaches and care teams to optimize athlete health.
- Educate patients, families, and teams on safety and injury prevention.
- Support quality, safety, and performance-improvement initiatives.
