Job summary

Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide on-field and training room coverage for injured athletes, support partner schools and community events, and adapt to variable hours and late nights.

The role includes rehab programs, first aid, MT room operations, and maintaining records while coordinating with coaches, physicians, PTs, and educators. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for promoting injury prevention and health literacy.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Athletic Training Licensure for the states in which you work.
• Credentialed as Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC); Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Preferred: Two years' experience in school/community setting as an Athletic Trainer.

Responsibilities

• Carries out rehabilitation program after athlete or patient has been evaluated and treatment plan established.
• Assesses and administers first-aid to injured athletes during practices and events; refer to physician when needed.
• Oversees operation of the Athletic Training room; ensures supplies, coverage, and a clean, safe environment.
• Communicates with coaches, administrators, parents, athletes, patients, physicians, therapists and other team members.
• Maintains accurate records of evaluations, referrals, and treatments.
• Provides education on injury prevention and overall health literacy.
• Develops relationships with key stakeholders at assigned school/clinic (Physicians, Athletic Director, School Administration, Coaches, Boosters, Parents).
• Ensures return-to-play criteria are met before allowing participation.
• Organizes in-services, lectures, conferences, seasonal physicals, sports camps, training, and educational opportunities.
