Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer to support orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants in a clinic setting, while delivering athletic injury prevention and rehabilitation services to local high school, ski, and snowboard teams.

The trainer will develop strength and conditioning and return-to-activity programs for post-operative patients, provide emergency care, and coordinate with surgery schedulers, PT, and coaches to keep athletes safe and progressing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• NATABOC ATC certification required.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross).
• Strong taping, casting, DME fitting and orthopedic patient care skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communicator and team player.
• Flexible and adaptable
• Passionate about sports medicine, orthopedics, and helping athletes safely return to activity.
• Willing to learn and collaborate in both clinical and athletic environments.

Responsibilities

• Support orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants with patient care.
• Greet, room patients, obtain vitals and medical histories, and document patient information.
• Carry out treatment recommendations and provide patient education.
• Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures.
• Coordinate care with surgery schedulers, authorization teams, physical therapy, and other departments.
• Fabricate, adjust, and remove orthopedic devices and apply mobilization and immobilization devices.
• Assist with traction, casting, splinting, wound dressings, and suture removal.
• Provide athletic training coverage for local high school, ski, and snowboard teams, including injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and emergency care.
• Develop and follow emergency action plans for athletic facilities and events.
• Provide concussion education and training for coaching staff.
• Assist with strength and conditioning and safe return-to-activity programs.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, athletes, parents, and athletic directors.
