Job summary

Reef Systems in Portland, OR seeks an Athletic Trainer (Certified) to join a collaborative team supporting the 125th STS with injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization. The role involves clinical assessment, rehab planning, and close coordination with PT/IM and SCS to tailor operator-specific plans.

Responsibilities include coverage during drills, adherence to HIPAA, documentation, and participation in weekly meetings to improve care.

Qualifications

• Athletic Trainer (Certified) (ATC) certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Athletic Training from an accredited college or university and NATABOC certified.
• CSCS certification through NSCA or USAWA certification through USAW preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years paid professional experience with elite level athletes within the SOF community, NCAA, or professional sports.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage of the Human Performance Program services.
• Maintain a clean and safe Human Performance Program area; clean equipment daily.
• Document care in compliance with HIPAA regulations and share reports with unit medical staff.
• Perform initial physical assessments to recognize pathology and injury severity; refer as needed.
• Design and fabricate protective pads, equipment, and braces as per plan.
• Participate in weekly and monthly care review meetings and provide quarterly reports.
