Job summary

Athletic Trainer (ATC) - South Central School at Fisher-Titus in Norwalk, OH, is seeking a part-time ATC for an outreach program to local high schools. The role supports event coverage, training room hours, and clinical hours, including body fat assessment and CPR-AED instruction to student-athletes.

We require participation in the coaches/advisors sports medicine program per Ohio DOE, plus the ability to communicate effectively with coaches and staff.

Qualifications

• Outreach to local high schools.
• Event coverage and training room hours.
• Clinical hours and injury assessment.
• CPR-AED instructor certification preferred.
• Body fat assessment experience advantageous.
• Participation in coaches/sports medicine programme per Ohio DOE.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with coaching staff and appropriate personnel.
• Promote safe and appropriate practice and competition; plan conditioning programs.
• Develop injury and illness prevention strategies.
• Provide immediate care in case of injury on school grounds or events.
• Apply protective devices such as taping and bracing.
• Develop and implement an emergency action plan.
• Advise on equipment fit and maintenance.
• Administer injury evaluation and reporting; refer when needed.
• Maintain professional composure under stress.
• Maintain open communication regarding issues.
