Job summary

Salem State University is seeking an Athletic Trainer to join our sports medicine team and provide comprehensive care to 15 varsity programs at Salem, MA. This is a temporary, full-time, 10-month position with non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and travel with one high-risk team.

You will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer and help shape care delivery on campus while potentially precepting MSAT students.

Qualifications

• One year of collegiate athletic training experience or equivalent.
• Current BOC Certification.
• Possess or be eligible to acquire Massachusetts Athletic Trainer Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive athletic training services to 15 varsity teams.
• Assist in implementing a comprehensive sports medicine program.
• Potentially serve as a preceptor for the MSAT program; work with student-athletes.

Description

As a member of our sports medicine staff, you'll play a meaningful role in keeping that commitment — working directly with NCAA Division III student-athletes to support their health, performance, and long-term wellbeing.

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer, you will provide comprehensive athletic training services and assist in the implementation of a comprehensive sports medicine program to 15 varsity athletic teams. This is a hands-on, student-facing position with genuine scope to shape how care is delivered on campus and potentially serve as a preceptor for the MSAT program

Please Note: This is a temporary, full-time,10-month position with non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and travel with one high risk team.

• One year of collegiate athletic training experience or equivalent
• Current BOC Certification
• Possess or be eligible to acquire Massachusetts Athletic Trainer Licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills; both written and oral
• Ability to successfully use and integrate MS Office or similar products in the working environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

Working Location

This is an onsitepositionin Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities, which may require regular work on evenings and weekends.

Employment is contingent upon a completed background and CORI check satisfactory to the university.
