Job summary

Tulane University seeks a dedicated athletic trainer to assist in managing the sports medicine program and training room operations in New Orleans, LA. The role supports injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes across multiple sports.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff schedules, assisting with injury treatment plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. Travel with teams and flexible hours including nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of NCAA and American Conference rules and regulations.
• Master's degree and NATABOC certification required.
• LSBME licensure required at date of hire.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Assists with arrangements for injury and illness treatment by team physicians or other physicians as necessary.(10%)
• Assists with the maintenance of complete, accurate and detailed medical records for all student athlete injuries. (5%)
• Assists in coordinating the master schedule of athletic training room staff and coverage. (5%)
• Assists in directing or directs sport camps as requested or required. (5%)

Qualifications

• Master's Degree and NATABOC Certification
• Louisiana-LSBME licensure at date of hire
• Current CPR/First Aid/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Certification .

Preferred Qualification:

• Two years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer (NATABOC)
• Previous Athletic Training Experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics

NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
