Job summary

Tulane University in New Orleans, LA is seeking a qualified athletic trainer to assist with the management of the sports medicine program and athletic training room operations. You will support injury prevention, assessment, care, treatment and rehabilitation for student-athletes across all sports.

Required qualifications include a Master''s Degree and NATABOC Certification, Louisiana LSBME licensure, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Job description

Assists with the management of all aspects of the sports medicine program and athletic training room operations.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the prevention, assessment, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to student-athletes in all sports programs. (70%)


• Assists with arrangements for injury and illness treatment by team physicians or other physicians as necessary.(10%)


• Assists with the maintenance of complete, accurate and detailed medical records for all student athlete injuries. (5%)


• Assists in coordinating the master schedule of athletic training room staff and coverage. (5%)


• Assists in directing or directs sport camps as requested or required. (5%)

Performs other duties as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description. (5%)

Qualifications

• Master's Degree and NATABOC Certification


• Louisiana-LSBME licensure at date of hire


• Current CPR/First Aid/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Certification .

Travel with sport teams for away contests

Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American Conference rules and regulations

Preferred Qualification:

• Two years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer (NATABOC)


• Previous Athletic Training Experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics

NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
