Job summary

Yorkville CUSD 115 is seeking an Athletic Trainer for Yorkville High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The Athletic Trainer will provide room and game coverage based on a minimum 40 hours per week, with travel coverage for Sophomore and Varsity football games.

Responsibilities include injury evaluation, baseline concussion testing, maintaining records, coordinating Return to Play, and serving on the concussion oversight team.

Responsibilities

Brief Description / Position Summary

Yorkville CUSD 115 has an opening for an Athletic Trainer for Yorkville High School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Summary

The Athletic Trainer will provide Athletic Training room and game coverage based on a minimum 40 hours per week. Traveling coverage will consist of Sophomore and Varsity football games. Other travel responsibilities may be requested by the Associate Principal of Athletics. Coverage for all levels of all home contests is required. Injury evaluation will be available at the school for sports participating and practices in games and practices, including offsite venues.

Essential Functions

• Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the team physician
• Provide athletic training services for all home IHSA and non-IHSA Y115 High School events, away sophomore and varsity football games, and postseason contests as directed by their supervisor.
• Act as a liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents
• Perform body fat testing for the boys and girls wrestling programs
• Perform baseline concussion testing on all student athletes and maintain data
• Maintain accurate and current seasonal records of injuries and treatments, providing information to required stakeholders when necessary, including the recording of concussions to the IHSA website.
• Develop and maintain a budget with inventory of equipment and supplies for the athletic training program, including working with the Athletic Department in terms of ordering supplies.
• Follow all school policies and procedures and provisions and in the student handbook.
• Serve as a member of the concussion oversight team as outlined in the school policy
• Coordinate Return to Play Protocol for all co-curricular participants, as outlined in school procedures
• Assist Associate Principal with the supervision of student assistants from IVVC or local universities
• Coordinate and communicate the weekly Athletic Training work schedule with the Associate Principal
• Provide Consultation, treatment, or rehab during the school day. This will be built into the 40 hour per week schedule during flex block and lunch hours.
• Other duties as assigned by the Associate Principal, Building Principal or District Administration

Qualifications

• NATA BOC Certified and licensed or in process of acquiring licensure in State of Illinois
• Current State of IL Athletic Trainer license - NPI # Required

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Athletic Training Experience preferred

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
