Job summary

Saint Michael’s College is seeking a full-time Athletics Support Technician to maintain athletic facilities and campus grounds. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm with overtime and occasional off-hours. The hourly rate ranges from $19.00 to $21.00, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include landscaping, field maintenance, and assisting with campus events. Applicants should have a high school diploma, 1–3 years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related groundskeeping experience.
• Ability to operate grounds equipment and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds year-round using light and heavy tools/equipment.
• Clean up campus grounds, empty trash, recycling and compost containers.
• Maintain athletic fields and striping for play surfaces.
• Move and store campus furniture, appliances, and equipment as needed.
• Set up and tear down for campus events.
• Participate in weekend on-call rotation during winter.

Job description

The Facilities Department at Saint Michael’s College is inviting applications for a full-time Athletics Support Technician. Successful candidates will join a team that maintains Athletic Facilities throughout the year. The position is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm with the need for overtime and working off hours/days at times.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds throughout the year by general landscaping procedures using light and heavy tools/equipment
• Clean up campus grounds to include litter and debris. Empty trash, recycling, and compost containers throughout campus
• Maintain athletic fields using appropriate lawn care procedures including striping playing surfaces and game field preparation
• Move and store all campus furniture, appliances and equipment to/from all buildings
• Set-up and tear down of all campus events
• Participate in a weekend on-call rotation during the winter

Applicants should have the following

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years experience or related work experience
• Knowledge of grounds keeping equipment and methods desired
• Knowledge of athletic field line striping (ie: soccer, baseball) desired
• Can meet the physical demands expected to successfully perform the essential functions and occasional lifting and moving of heavy objects such as landscaping materials, equipment, and furniture required
• Valid driver's license and must be able to successfully pass driving record check. For criteria please see the Driver Acceptability Matrix
