Job summary

New Mexico State University in Las Cruces is seeking an Athletic Media Specialist Senior to support the Athletics Media Relations office. You will supervise staff, manage communications for Men's Basketball, Women's Tennis, and Men's Tennis, and produce multimedia content for social media and digital platforms.

You will develop game notes, media guides, and press releases, and coordinate game-day media relations coverage.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Media Relations in the day-to-day operations of the NMSU Athletics Media Relations office; supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate assigned staff; serve as the primary communications contact for Men's Basketball, Women's Tennis, and Men's Tennis; create multimedia content for social media and digital platforms, including photography, videography, video editing, and strategic storytelling; develop game notes, media guides, game programs, feature stories, and press releases; and coordinate game-day media relations operations and coverage.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience creating and managing social media content for athletics or sports organizations, including photography, videography, video editing, content planning, and platform-specific content development.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
