Job summary

New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension is seeking a Program Coordinator II to support agricultural and economic programming in Las Vegas, NM. The role coordinates activities, assists with farm education and training, and backs day-to-day farm operations and participant activities.

The candidate must live in San Miguel County and will work at the NMSU satellite location, with a standard full-time schedule and potential weekend/evening shifts. Non-exempt AFSCME bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma + 1 year of relevant experience, or higher degree.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of program activities to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
• Assist the Farm Manager with conducting education and training sessions; monitoring participants’ proper and safe use of farm equipment, tools, and facilities; maintaining farm buildings and structures; and obtaining necessary materials and supplies for planting, cultivating, and harvesting farm products.
• Serve as a liaison with community partners to provide program information and promote program activities, recruit farm participants, and develop and strengthen markets for farm-produced products.
• Conduct assessments of program activities, including education and training, production, markets and marketing, and farm management practices. Identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate actions to enhance program performance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to program participants, employees, purchases, sales, production activities, and other program operations.
