Job summary

University of Houston Athletics department seeks a maintenance-focused professional to support daily upkeep of all athletic fields and grounds, ensuring readiness for intercollegiate and intramural events.

You will coordinate custodial and maintenance services, participate in event planning, and act as a positive ambassador for UH Athletics. A valid Texas driver’s license and 1 year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires specialized training beyond high school level (up to 18 months).
• Experience: minimum 1 year of directly job-related experience.
• Certification: valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily support to maintenance of all athletic fields and grounds.
• Supports conversion, preparedness, and protection of assigned athletic fields for intercollegiate events.
• Supervises conversion, preparedness, and protection of intramural fields and special events.
• Serves as facility liaison for Athletics facilities; coordinates custodial and maintenance services daily.
• Develops and executes event management plans for events in assigned facilities.
• Acts as a positive ambassador for UH Athletics and UH.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Description:

• 1. Provides daily support to maintenance of all athletic fields andgrounds
• 2. Supports the conversion, preparedness, and protection ofassigned athletic fields related to intercollegiate athletic andspecial events.
• 3. Supervises and executes the conversion, preparedness, andprotection of intramural fields and special events.
• 4. Serves as facility liaison for assigned Athletics facilities. Ona daily basis, engages and holds accountable service providers toensure proper custodial and maintenance for assigned athleticsfacilities/grounds. Coordinates schedule of use, building security,oversight of building systems and performance of maintenance,custodial and grounds services.
• 5. Alongside unit leadership, develops and executes eventmanagement plans for all events hosted in assigned Athleticsfacilities.
• 6. In all settings and in all situations, serves as a positiveAmbassador for UH Athletics and UH in general. Effuse positivityand grow affinity for all things UH.
• 7. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned

MQ: Education: Requires specialized training in basic trades,principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in aspecific area or trade which might normally be acquired through upto 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level.Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronicequipment may be required. Experience: Requires a minimum of one(1) year of directly job-related experience. Certification:Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
