Job summary

The University of South Dakota is seeking custodial staff to support athletic and wellness facilities. You will perform routine cleaning, equipment setup and takedown, and ensure safe, orderly spaces for events and daily use.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, dusting, mopping, waxing floors, and assisting with snow removal as needed. Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required, with attention to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and execution of light custodial and janitorial tasks.
• Ability to work at heights, including bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, climbing, squatting, sitting, twisting, grasping, and crawling.
• Reach at various levels from floor to overhead.
• Ability to move, manipulate, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine event set‑ups and custodial duties to prepare athletic department areas for events.
• Do set‑up and take‑down of equipment for athletic and special events, moving, lifting, carrying, and arranging furniture and equipment as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, collect and remove refuse, dust, mop, clean windows, clean carpets, wax, scrub, polish, and perform snow removal from sidewalks and stairs.
