SummaryThe Athletic Facilities & Operations Assistant is responsible for the daily operation, preparation, maintenance coordination, and oversight of all athletic facilities. This position works closely with the athletic department, coaches, custodial staff, and campus operations to ensure athletic venues are safe, organized, and prepared for practices, competitions, and special events related to the athletic department while providing an exceptional experience for student-athletes and guests.Reports ToAthletic DirectorSchedule12 month position 2pm - 10pm weekly hoursPrimary ResponsibilitiesFacility OperationsEnsure the setup and breakdown of all athletic practices, competitions, and special events.Conduct routine inspections of indoor and outdoor athletic facilities.Identify and report maintenance, safety, and repair needs.Monitor facility cleanliness and presentation.Assist with weather-related facility decisions and field preparation.Equipment ManagementMaintain inventory of athletic equipment and supplies.Assist coaches with organization, storage, and maintenance of athletic equipment.Coordinate seasonal equipment distribution and collection.Coordinate transportation of athletic equipment between venues when necessary.Event ManagementPrepare facilities for home contests including:SeatingTeam benchesScore tablesOfficials' areasPress boxSignageField and court markingsAdmissionsCoordinate with custodial, maintenance, security, and concessions personnel.Assist with game-day operations as assigned.Safety & ComplianceEnsure facilities comply with school, conference, and MSHSAA standards.Assist with implementation of emergency action plans.Report hazards immediately.Coach & Staff SupportServe as a resource for coaches regarding facility needs.Coordinate practice setup requests.Assist coaches with equipment and storage needs.Be knowledgeable of and adhere to facility expectations and procedures.Vendor & Maintenance CoordinationWork with the campus maintenance department regarding repairs and preventative maintenance.Assist in planning capital improvement projects.Preferred QualificationsExperience in athletic coordination, facility management, operations, or coaching preferred.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of athletic equipment and facility operations.Ability to work evenings and weekends as athletic schedules require.Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor associated with facility setup.Desired SkillsStrong attention to detailCustomer service mindsetProblem-solving abilityLeadership and teamworkTime managementEvent planningBasic maintenance knowledgeMicrosoft Office and Google Office functionalityPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to move athletic equipment and perform facility setup.Ability to lift 25+ lbs.Spiritual LeadershipModel an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus ChristPromote integration of faith and athletics across all programsEncourage spiritual growth and character development among student-athletes and coachesReinforce athletics as a tool for discipleship and life developmentApply biblical principles in leadership, relationships, and conflict resolutionProfessional ExpectationsDemonstrate professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethicMaintain positive, respectful relationships with students, parents, staff, and communityExhibit flexibility and reliability in a dynamic environmentRepresent the school/district and athletic program with excellence
