Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks an Assistant AD, Equipment Operations to oversee the athletic department's equipment and apparel program, including vendor relations, sourcing, inventory, and budget oversight for 19 varsity sports.

You'll supervise student staff, ensure timely distribution of gear, maintain secure storage, and enforce licensing compliance while partnering with coaches and the apparel provider to maximize contract benefits and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of supervision experience in a college athletic program are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting and purchasing for athletic equipment and apparel across 19 varsity sports.
• Design and maintain inventory control procedures and vendor administration.
• Manage physical inventory, equipment handling, and distribution for practices and events.
• Supervise student staff, interns, and work-study employees in the equipment room.
• Ensure uniforms, laundry services, and repairs align with program needs.
