Job summary

Deering High School, part of Portland Public Schools, seeks a Co-Curricular Director to lead athletics, clubs and culture within a diverse and equity-focused framework.

Reporting to the Principal, the role covers budget management, hiring coaches, compliance with MPA/SMAA, and collaboration with city departments to optimize field and practice time while advancing PBIS and restorative practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in supervision, educational administration, school curriculum, or closely related field.
• Five years of successful coaching experience.
• Leadership and district-level collaboration experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develops, oversees and manages the budget for all athletics and activities.
• Supervises, evaluates, and hires all coaches and advisors.
• Administers regulations of MPA/SMAA including student eligibility and paperwork.
• Collaborates with City Rec for field and practice time.
• Manages Title IX compliance and transportation for athletic events.
• Represents the school at meetings and events.
• Organizes events like Open Houses and awards ceremonies.
