Job summary

Ankeny Community School District in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Camp/Clinic Assistant to help organize and direct camps and clinics. You will assist with practice planning, skill development, and supervising student-athletes under the guidance of the Camps and Clinics Coordinator.

The role requires a valid coaching license or the ability to obtain one, plus prior camp/clinic or coaching experience. This is a part-time temporary position with safety guidelines and district policies in place.

Qualifications

• Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season.
• Previous experience working a camp/clinic, preferred.
• Previous coaching experience, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow direction from the designated camp organizer of the camp or clinic.
• Teach and promote athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and sportsmanship.
• Assess student performance for feedback on individual performance and team placement.
• Collaborate with the camp/clinic lead organizer on instructional strategies and practice organization.
• Adhere to injury prevention procedures established by Ankeny CSD.
• Enhance sportsmanship throughout the camp/clinic.
• Protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Supervise students throughout the camp/clinic.
