Qualifications

• Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise student athletes and a coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Attend and effectively coach in all scheduled games.
• Collaborate with the head coach in developing and promoting off season programs and opportunities for student athletes.
• Collaborate with the head coach and other coaching staff on instructional strategies, practice organization, supervision guidelines, and responsibilities.
• Teach and promote athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and sportsmanship.
• Be present for any and all practices.
• Assess student performance for feedback on individual performance and team placement.
• Adhere to injury prevention procedures and district rules.
• Promote sportsmanship by working with administration, cheerleaders, boosters, etc.
• Maintain student-athlete files and equipment inventories.
• Ensure compliance with codes of conduct and district policies.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development.
