Job summary

IMI Industrial Services Group is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer LOCAL to the Athens, GA area. The role focuses on designing mechanical and structural systems for industrial and commercial projects, using CAD tools to prepare detail designs and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical or structural design required.
• Minimum of two years mechanical design or structural detailing experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Strong ability to read construction specs and drawings.
• Experience with fabrication and installation.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to prepare detailed designs of mechanical systems and structural assemblies.
• Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by analyzing requirements and researching methods and materials.
• Create bills of materials to accurately estimate cost.
• Coordinate construction plans with clients, architects, engineers and other professionals.
• Collaborate with sales and production departments to advance projects.
• Review drawings to minimize errors and ensure quality.
• Respond timely to inquiries from purchasing, production and installation teams.
