The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) in Danville, VA, invites applications for a Welding Instructor to deliver hands-on welding instruction in a fast-paced workforce training environment. You will prepare students for advanced manufacturing careers by teaching fundamentals, safety, and industry practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of welding industry experience.
• At least two years of teaching or workforce-training experience.
• Experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW welding processes.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials.
• Competency in welding safety practices, blueprint interpretation, weld symbols, and drawings.
• Competency in technical mathematics and measurements used in welding.

Shift assignments are determined by business needs at the time of hire, performance, and tenure. This position requires flexibility to work any shift as program needs evolve. Compensation includes a shift differential based on assigned instructional hours.
