Job summary

Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. in Hackensack, NJ seeks an ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) to fit and train patients with a wearable defibrillator. You will coordinate with the Regional Clinical Advisors and travel to hospitals, clinics, and patients’ homes for fittings.

The role requires a background in patient care and/or clinical engineering, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage paperwork and inventory. This is a contractor, per-fitting position with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 1 year in a paid patient care experience (not as a family caregiver)
• Clinical or engineering background such as nurses, cardiac device sales reps, clinical engineers, cath lab techs, PAs, or ECG technicians
• Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable)
• Background check completion (Florida and Ohio must have level 2)
• Willingness to pay an annual DME fee deducted from work orders
• Ability to pay vendor credentialing upfront during a 90-day probationary period
• Experience in patient and/or clinician education
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Ability to consistently work in the field in and around Brownsville TX
• Credentialing for hospital system entry (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety)

Responsibilities

• Fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator as an ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS)
• Instill confidence in ASSURE patients through clear patient care
• Contact prescribers, caregivers and patients to schedule services
• Accept assignments including daytime, evening, and weekend hours
• Travel to hospitals, patients’ homes and healthcare facilities for fittings
• Measure patients to determine garment size
• Review and transmit essential paperwork for garment/services
• Manage inventory of kit, garments and equipment used in fittings
• Adhere to confidentiality pledges and internal policies
• Follow HIPAA and safety protocols as required
