Job summary

CohnReznick in Houston is seeking an Assurance Manager to lead client engagements, review financial statements, and guide staff. This hybrid role emphasizes in-person collaboration about 3 days a week and opportunities to work across manufacturing, oil and gas, construction, and not-for-profit sectors.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years at a public accounting firm, CPA licensure, strong US GAAP/GAAS knowledge, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting required
• CPA licensure required
• 5+ years of work experience in public accounting
• Strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills including knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB rules and standards
• Excellent client service and communication skills
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills; ability to guide staff
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with CaseWare or ProSystem FX

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

• Drive client engagements
• Review and prepare financial statements, footnotes, workpapers, management letters, agreed upon procedures, and other attestation engagements
• Demonstrate professional creativity in dealing with client matters and make constructive suggestions to improve client operations
• Effectively analyze client transactions, recognizing and resolving potential or existing problems with appropriate research and consulting
• Accept responsibility and utilize firm resources to complete assignments
• Oversee, mentor, and develop staff

Your Experience.

The successful candidate will have:

• 5+ years of work experience in another public accounting firm
• Exceptional analytical, technical, and auditing skills including knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB rules and standards
• Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in accounting required
• CPA licensure required
• Exceptional client service and communication skills
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Demonstrates an Entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of audit software such as CaseWare or ProSystem FX
• Exceptional organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
