Job summary

BDO USA in Baton Rouge is seeking an Assurance Intern for Winter 2027. This role helps you apply accounting education, develop organizational skills, and gain real client exposure under experienced mentors.

You will participate in on‑the‑job training, learn GAAP and GAAS, support audit teams, communicate with client contacts, and document work using BDO templates. Active CPA pursuit and MS Office proficiency are expected; internship offers hands-on learning and growth within a values‑driven ESOP

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, required
• Pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting, preferred
• Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required

Responsibilities

• Participates in on‑the‑job training and become familiar with GAAP and GAAS
• Becomes familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with audits
• Provides support functions to the audit staff during engagements
• Communicates with clients’ customers, creditors, banks and related parties concerning audit issues
• Prepares and documents work in working papers utilizing BDO templates
• Contributes ideas to audit teams and listens to others
• Completes one assigned accounting or audit research project and presents findings
• Other duties as required
