Job summary

BDO in Baton Rouge invites energetic students to apply for the Assurance Intern position for Winter 2027. You will begin applying your accounting studies, assist with problem solving, and learn from seasoned team members through coaching and structured on-the-job training.

Typical duties include supporting audit staff, preparing working papers, and communicating with clients and related parties regarding audit issues.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program in Accounting, required.
• Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting, preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a structured on-the-job training program and become familiar with GAAP and GAAS.
• Becomes familiar with BDO specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Provides various support functions to the audit staff during engagement.
• Communicates with the clients' customers, creditors, banks and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Prepares and documents work in working papers utilizing BDO specific tools and templates.
• Contributes ideas/opinions to the audit teams and listens to other team members’ views.
• Completes one assigned accounting or audit related research project and presents findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
• Other duties as required.
