Alternatives, Inc. in Somerset, NJ is hiring a full-time Assistant Group Home Manager to support adults with developmental disabilities and oversee the residential group home program.

You will help with daily living activities, medication, and transportation while implementing behavioral plans and guiding residents to greater independence; you’ll also assist in scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with doctors and guardians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• CPR/first aid training and medication administration training.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including medication administration, meals, personal hygiene, and transportation.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach new skills.
• Encourage community outings and address health and safety concerns.
• Assist with staff scheduling, budgeting, and fire drills as part of group home operations.

You have made it your mission to ensure the comfort and safety of each client. In our residential group home, you assist our residents with activities of daily living such as administering medication, cooking meals, performing personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.You also assist in the implementation of individual behavioral plans. Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you teach them new skills and help them achieve goals. Based on each individual's preferences and behavioral plans, you encourage their interests and drive them to community outings and recreational activities. You are happy to help them find greater access to the community. You are conscientious about reporting any concerns about their health and safety and keeping documentation accurate and up-to-date.In addition to the above-mentioned direct care job duties, the Assistant Group Home Manager is closely involved with the operations of the group home. You will assist the Group Home Manager with things such as staff scheduling, budgeting, communication with doctors' offices and parents/guardians, perform fire drills, and more.
