Job summary

NC State University’s College of Engineering seeks an Assistant Dean of Philanthropy to lead the college’s advancement program and manage the development team. The role works with university leadership, alumni, donors, and partners to cultivate major gifts and strategic funding.

The successful candidate will oversee seven-figure gifts and transformational giving, chair Foundation activities, and drive a comprehensive philanthropy strategy aligned with university priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum eight years in major gift fundraising and advancement leadership.
• Experience developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies.
• Experience managing institutional advancement staff and volunteer boards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing advancement team and donor-centered culture.
• Set strategy for philanthropy, manage campaigns and donor pipeline.
• Cultivate, solicit and steward major, leadership and principal gifts.
• Partner with university leadership to align philanthropy with campus priorities.
• Oversee Foundation governance and board engagement.
