Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh seeks an Assistant Dean of Philanthropy for the College of Engineering. The role leads the college's advancement program, manages a diverse team, and collaborates with university leadership, alumni, donors, and partners to advance philanthropic priorities and engagement.

The successful candidate will build and manage a portfolio of major gifts, work with internal teams to grow the donor pipeline, and lead a comprehensive philanthropy program aligned with university

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional training and experience.
Eight+ years in major gift fundraising and advancement leadership.
Experience developing and implementing fund-raising strategies including campaigns.
Experience managing institutional advancement staff.
Experience managing volunteer boards.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a high-performing advancement team and mentor staff.
Guide growth and evolution of the organization by fostering innovation and collaboration.
Engage donor pipeline development, campaign planning and implementation with leadership.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward seven-figure and transformational gifts.
Oversee Foundation governance and fiscal oversight with the Foundation board.

Education

Bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience

At least eight years of progressively responsible experience in major gift fundraising and advancement leadership

Experience developing and successful implementation of comprehensive fund-raising strategies, including campaigns

Experience managing institutional advancement staff

Experience managing volunteer boards
