Job summary

NC State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Philanthropy, Engineering to help identify and qualify major gift prospects for the College of Engineering Advancement. You will develop a discovery portfolio and conduct outreach with alumni and friends, primarily via virtual meetings, to assess readiness for major gifts within 12–24 months.

The role emphasizes collaboration with gift officers, research of donors, and referrals for further cultivation, solicitation, and closure.

Qualifications

• Able to analyze data points to prioritize suspect/donor outreach.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and oral communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify alumni and friends with potential to give major gifts.
• Manage a discovery portfolio of prospects and conduct outreach to schedule meetings.
• Write detailed contact reports and follow-up communications.
• Refer newly identified prospects to major gift officers and leadership annual giving teams.
