• Provide up to 6 days of clinic coverage including follow-up clinics and consultations.
• Participate in quality improvement activities as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Educate and mentor surgical residents and medical students.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities to advance pediatric surgery.

Position Description

Welcome to the Department of Surgery at Texas Tech UniversityHealth Sciences Center in Lubbock. We are an academic surgeryprogram with several hallmarks. First and foremost, we train thebest of the next generation of independent, confident surgeonsready for general surgery practice or to pursue advanced fellowshiptraining upon graduation. We do this by providing early autonomy indiagnosis and clinical decision making, perioperative care, and inthe operating room itself. We believe that in order to practicesurgery well, you must actually be in the operating room from thestart of your surgical training. We value the collegiality andsupport we provide each other and ensure that camaraderie remains adefining characteristic of this program.
